Introduction
If you wish to renounce your Irish Citizenship or if you wish to reacquire your Irish Citizenship there are processes which you can read about here and forms that you should submit.

Renounce Irish Citizenship
You can voluntarily renounce (give up) your Irish citizenship. If you previously renounced your citizenship you can apply to reacquire it, but only if you were born on the island of Ireland.

Declaration
You must make a declaration of alienage to renounce Irish citizenship by completing Form 13. Fill in the form and return it to the address on the form along with the required documents. You may access the form here:
Reacquire Irish Citizenship
You can apply to reacquire Irish citizenship (if you renounced it) if you were born on the island of Ireland.
If you gained citizenship based on descent from your parents, grandparents or great-grandparents or through naturalisation, you cannot apply to reacquire citizenship after you renounce it. You should submit a new application for citizenship by naturalisation or citizenship based on descent.

Make sure you use the most recently published version of each form when making an application. If you complete an old version of a form, it will be returned to you and you will have to start again.
