Introduction
You are entitled to an Irish Residence Permit (IRP) card for the duration of your temporary protection permission in Ireland. Currently temporary protection has been extended to 4th March, 2025. Here you will read important information about how to renew your immigration permission online.
Please note that your Temporary Protection Certificate (yellow paper) is your permission to be in Ireland and is equivalent to a stamp 4. This gives you access to Government supports including full access to the labour market.
Employers should note:
If your employee is a Beneficiary of Temporary Protection (BoTP), their IRP card has expired and they are waiting to renew it they are legally permitted to remain in the State and access the labour market on the basis of their Temporary Protection Certificate. Please note that all temporary protection certificates are valid up to 4 March 2025, regardless of the date on the certificate.

As a BoTP you can renew your IRP card online. There is no fee to renew your card.
