If a non-EEA national has court documents stating that they are a citizen of an EU country but they do not have an EU passport confirming that status, they should ensure that they keep their Irish immigration permission (Stamp 1 or Stamp 2 etc.) up to date, in order to continue to remain legally resident in the State, while they await the issuing of their EU passport.
If a non-EEA National does not have an in date Irish immigration permission, prior to the issuing of their EU passport, they will have no entitlement to remain and should make arrangements to leave the State.
Please note that Immigration Services will not provide an immigration permission to a non-EEA national solely for the purpose of waiting for their EU passport to be issued.
